Frequently Asked
Here you'll find answers to your questions regarding Friends of Lakewood Schools and our mission to support the Lakewood City School District.
What is Friends of Lakewood Schools?
Friends of Lakewood Schools is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the long-term success of the Lakewood City School District by promoting awareness and engaging the community and Lakewood School's leadership.
Is Friends of Lakewood Schools the same thing as Preserve Lakewood Schools?
No. FLS is an Ohio nonprofit organization that is governed by an independent board of Lakewood residents. Preserve Lakewood Schools PAC is an entirely separate organization with its own separate governing body. None of the directors or officers of FLS overlap with any of the directors or officers of Preserve Lakewood Schools PAC.
Does FLS have any political affiliations?
No. FLS is non-partisan and serves as an independent, neutral voice to advocate for the long-term success of the Lakewood City School District.
Why don’t you list who’s involved in FLS on your website?
FLS was formed 5 months ago and is in the development stage as we roll out our new website and organizational content. We’ve got a team of initial directors steering the organization. All are Lakewood residents, parents of public-school children, and each come from a different public-school neighborhood. We are always looking to meet additional stakeholders.
