Take Action Before September 8, 2026

The Lakewood School Board votes Tuesday, September 8 to reverse a decision the whole city already funded—with no proven problem and no real plan.

 

There's still time to make our voices impossible to ignore. Here are some resources to help you get started—and share with friends and neighbors!

Be at the
Vote

Nothing matters more than a full room. A packed, on-the-record meeting is what the Board and the press can't ignore.

Contact the School Board

Send an email or call each member before the vote.

 

We've written a starting draft—add a line in your own words about your street or your situation, and send.

We recommend sending separate notes to each board member to make it more personal.

Contact City Council

City Council doesn't cast this vote, but the decision reshapes our streets, our traffic, and our tax burden, and that is their business.

 

Ask them to use their voice: to urge the Board to slow down, and to call for a real review of the traffic, safety, and cost impacts on the city before anything moves forward.

Sign the petition

Add your name to the public record and make a public comment, including your street name and reason for signing.

Local signatures representing all of Lakewood shows that this issue is a Lakewood-wide issue.

Now tell 5 friends

Text your neighborhood group chat. Talk about it at school pickup. The more of Lakewood that sees this, the clearer it is that this is about all of Lakewood and our shared future.

This doesn't end September 8.

However the vote goes, we're building a community that holds this district accountable—through the next budget, the next school board election, and every decision still to come. Stay in it.
